The A.L. Harper Foundation was formed on January 13, 2017. Since then, we have had the pleasure of investing in the education of students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in an effort to help reduce the amount of debt they graduate with.

As tuition costs increases and HBCU students, traditionally, borrowing student loans at higher rates, our work has become essential.

  • Campaign Goal: To consistently provide scholarships and other awards to students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)

  • Fundraiser Goal: $100,000 by December 31, 2026

  • Ways to support: take the pledge (form) and donate over time or give a one time gift (see below)

All donors will be celebrated at our Salute to Supporters social hour Wednesday, January 13, 2027 with special recognition to donors who give $500 or more. This event will be free and open to the public.

We have three opportunities available for your support:

  • Traditional Awards - open to any HBCU student that meets our scholarship criteria. Application is open for the Spring and Fall Semesters.

  • High School Award - open to high school students that have committed to attending an HBCU for the Fall Semester of their graduation year.

  • The Academy of Goal Achievers Partnership - each year, The A.L. Harper Foundation will provide an award to a High School Student participating in their program and is enrolled in an HBCU. Awardee will be selected by the staff at TAOGA.
